Fans of the Bethany area of Beaverton (like us!) are in for good news. Steps were taken recently to overhaul the North Bethany area in the coming months, through significant expansion and development. Washington County has a unique "ordinance season," which forbids commissioners to adopt new land-use ordinances from November through February, so a little over a week ago, Washington County commissioners began scrambling to get plans completed. Several issues were addressed, including where parks would be located, how the 800-acre North Bethany section---which is to include ample commercial and residential development---would border its neighbors, and myriad other decisions.
